Art has been a passion of mine since I was little. When I was in elementary school my art teacher always inspired me to draw and to use my imagination as much as possible. I used to watch a lot of classic cartoons such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Tom & Jerry, Courage The Cowardly Dog, and many more! I also used to enjoy a lot of anime when I was younger like Dragon Ball, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, and even Naruto! These shows sparked my interest for animation and as I got older I started to develop a love for conceptual design. I wanted to know how these shows were made instead of just simply watching them. Most people believe that it’s just one person producing all of this great content when it’s actually a whole team comprised of artists, engineers, musicians, and many more involved. This also applies to film and game design!
I am incredibly grateful for the social media platforms we have today such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and that’s because since I’m studying art and digital media I can find all of my favorite animators, concept artists, and cartoonists under one outlet. The information they share is absolutely amazing! From animation, illustration to graphic design – I take all of that in and apply it to my own work as a way to improve and learn all I can. I see that as a learning experience and it’s helped me a great deal along my journey. I doubt I would be the artist I am today if it weren’t for those in the industry who continue to inspire young creative talents such as myself.
